Okay, so first of all, what is an X-ray Technician/Medical Assistant?
An X-ray technician uses cutting-edge imaging methods to visualize the inside of the human body. The images we create help physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries. A medical assistant assists the provider in any and all procedures – from applying a cast, to giving an injection.

What made you want to pursue a career in the medical field?
I really enjoy helping others, and the medical field seemed to be the perfect setting for that. I know it sounds cliché, but it’s true. I really do enjoy helping people!

Do you have any advice for someone considering a medical career?
If you really enjoy working as a team to help others, then a career in the medical field is the perfect place for you. But seriously, helping people is what we do. Sometimes, it’s not the appreciation we receive from our employer that satisfies us – rather, it’s the appreciation we get from someone we’ve never met before.

Any tips you’ve picked up, on good ways to prevent injuries?
To quote the great American actor James Franco: “safety first, then team work.” Make sure your work area is safe, and if you need help, don’t be afraid to ask for it.

What do you like most about working at Healthpointe?
The gratitude and satisfaction that I receive from being able to assist the patients.

And now, for what is arguably the most important question: If you could switch lives with any cartoon character, whom would it be, and why?
Batman, because he is Batman! But on some real levels, I love the fact that he is willing to help people he doesn’t even know, without second-guessing his actions. Everything he does is to benefit others, and I feel that is the true mark of a hero.
