Responsibilities

The radiology technician needs to follow directions exactly, so that the images are taken correctly.

An x-ray technician works with complex radiology machines within the hospital setting. They are to use their knowledge to read the doctor’s orders, adjust the equipment, prepare and adjust the patient to get the best picture, maintain patients records and operate the computer connected to the x-ray machine.

An x-ray technician must ensure the patient's safety. This includes reducing any harm from radiation by using heavy lead shields on the patient.

Radiology techs may work with patients who are in pain or frightened. They also need to work with the patient to move or position them to get the best image. Being a good communicator helps.

Radiology techs have to work on their feet for long days, and they spend those days working with complex computers and machinery.

Qualifications
  • Limited Digital X-Ray Permit, Licensed by the State of CA
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of back office medical clinic operations.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Detail-Orientated
  • Knowledge of posting medical charges.
  •  Minimum requirement is an associate’s degree in radiography, but can have a certificate/license from a certified company.
  • Dependable
  • Ability to instruct, direct, and work effectively with providers and other employees.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and a good team player.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Skull Certification is a plus!
